metamorphosis

Space fallen into disrepair holds its memories in its crumbling walls or the ground on which once foundations sat. It waits – waits to fall slowly apart, decaying year by year, or to be utterly destroyed so that it may rise like a phoenix into another form, or to be renewed into what it once was or into something new. All transformative, as it ceases to be what it was once.

These photographs, spanning both time and space, represent this idea. Of being and becoming. Of memories and dreams. Dereliction waiting to be transformed, holding its stories. Many of the photographs are of our new art space - BLOOM. This project is not just about opening an art space; the transformation is as important as the finished space - it will bloom, regenerate, metamorphosis. Art imitates life, life imitates art.
